Todd was born and raised in Springport and currently lives in the Parma area.  Todd is an avid deer hunter, hunting every chance that he gets and he does use the meat from his kills.

On August 20, Todd was climbing into a brand new tree stand, when the strap broke and he fell 25 feet to the ground, landing on his feet and suffered a COMPRESSION FRACTURE in his neck.  He was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo after a 2 hour effort to remove him from his position in the woods.

WE WANT TO THANK THE EMT’S, FIREFIGHTERS AND POLICE, AND NEIGHBORS THAT ASSISTED IN THIS RESCUE EFFORT.  We know that is wasn’t an easy accomplishment.

We also want to thank Dr. Wiggins at Bronson Hospital for his quick response and treatment of Todd’s injuries.  His neck was broken at the 7th vertebrea and luckily the spinal cord was not severed.  Dr. Wiggins said that it was a miracle that he survived the accident and that he will experience minimal permanent damage. 

 Todd is making very good progress although it will be at least a year before he will be able to return to work and will not be able to work in construction again due to his injuries.

Todd was employed, however, he did not have health insurance coverage and at this point medical bills are well over $100,000 and still coming in.  We are holding this benefit to help him with his daily bills and to help with medical expenses.

Todd is a pretty special person and much loved by his family and friends.  We are trying to help him through this crisis and any help from you is greatly appreciated!
