Procedures for In Home Transitions:
can be two separate areas;
(a) People just needing help with their daily organization and
(b) People planning for the future, best called “Aging in Place”
We are not health care professionals but we want to work closely with your Health Care Professional. If you do not have one, let us suggest someone who may be a good fit for you. We instead work as consultants to make stressful times easier.
For Clients just needing organization help we can provide a proposal for an estimate of our time and present a contract for an estimate of our services. If the Clients OK the proposal, a Contract for Consultant services is prepared and signed. A deposit is required.
Aging In Place (A.I.P.) situations are more complex. These normally require extensive remodeling and extensive use of trade professionals. Putting together a cost effect proposal requires many hours of our time and that of various trade professionals. To get a more accurate estimate, we will prepare a proposal for the time required for the bid.
We setup an appointment to meet with the client in their home to find out their wishes and needs. Using a company developed checklist we go over the many items that we can provide. This meeting will take 30 min to 2 hours. At this “no obligation” meeting we go over all rooms. Pictures may be taken. General, not detailed specifications will be developed at this time.
We will then prepare a proposal for the consulting time required to put together the detailed contract. This will be in the form of a Consulting contract. If Ok’ed by the Client we will do a comprehensive exam of the home. We will talk in greater detail about the options, styles and colors the client wants. This may take a couple of weeks and may involve Engineers and Trade Professionals. A deposit will be required.
At the end of this examination, a much more accurate estimate of work involved can be provided. We will provide proposals for our work, Subcontractors work and suppliers list. If OK, a contract will be signed, permits will be pulled and work started.
In most cases the A.I.P. modifications add a significant value to your home. In addition, living at home can be much less expensive then other retirement options; to the point that even major modifications can be covered by living in your own home for a couple more years.
